Optimizing the crucial vital in-take process for clinics and hospitals to improve efficiency and to reduce the risk of errors.

Graduate Thesis Project and
Research done in NPC Pediatric Clinic, Memphis

“Vital Right is a smart vital–intake system that streamlines clinics and hospitals by integrating biometric sensing, AI anomaly detection, and seamless EHR integration.”

Facial recognition for privacy and security

Integrated Height and Weight simultatiosly sensing temperature and respiration rate

Blood Pressure and Blood Oxygen Monitor

The process of collecting patient vitals in clinics is outdated, inefficient, and stressful for both patients and healthcare providers. Manual methods lead to delays, errors, and missed opportunities for proactive care, while overburdening staff with repetitive, time-consuming tasks.

Manual logging is slow and prone to mistakes, often leading to data gaps or inaccuracies in EHRs.

Long waits and “white coat syndrome” create stress, impacting the accuracy of measurements.

White Coat Syndrome

The anxiety of being around doctors in white coats can make blood pressure and heart rate rise leading to incorrect readings.

The U.S. healthcare system is primarily focused on treating illness rather than preventing it. Tools like Vital Right enable a stronger emphasis on prevention by delivering faster, more personalized insights into an individual’s health.

Healthcare professionals face overwhelming workloads, leading to high levels of burnout. Vital Right helps ease this burden by automating repetitive and error-prone tasks such as recording vital signs, freeing up staff to focus on higher-value care.

Traditional vital-sign collection is fragmented and offers limited insights. Vital Right not only captures these metrics but also analyzes them to identify patterns—such as weight fluctuations paired with blood pressure trends—helping physicians detect issues earlier and support more accurate diagnoses.

I interviewed many healthcare providers, nurses, and healthcare providers to understand their pain points, motivations, and needs.

" Taking vitals is one of the most crucial steps, and gives us more insight into the body, but it is one of the most repetitive and mind-numbing task.  "
